AI: Its Power, Potential, and How to Begin
Jill Bloom sits down with AI experts Anna Anderson, CEO of Art Unlimited, and Josey Parks, CEO of RooFix and Think Unlimited, to explore artificial intelligence's revolutionary impact on the construction industry.
In this episode of "Dear Anna on the Best of Success," host Jill Bloom sits down with AI experts Anna Anderson, CEO of Art Unlimited, and Josey Parks, CEO of Roofix and Think Unlimited, to explore artificial intelligence's revolutionary impact on the construction industry.
"Early adopters are going to win bigger," Parks said. "Contractors who embrace AI now are going to close jobs faster, reduce overhead, and deliver a smoother customer experience. The gap between AI-powered companies and old school operators is widening so fast."
Industry data supports this urgency. Anderson reports that 80% of companies now integrate AI into their business operations, with nearly 100% experiencing indirect AI influences. The shift is so dramatic that by mid-September 2025, experts predict 100% of Google search queries will include AI-enabled results.
The transformation extends beyond simple automation. Parks' internal AI competition, which offered $2,000 bonuses to departments developing AI solutions, produced breakthrough results. The winning production team created an AI agent that autonomously handles customer communications, invoicing, and scheduling updates—tasks that previously consumed significant staff time.
However, experts warn about implementation risks. "There is a pretty significant risk for owners," Parks cautioned, citing potential data leaks, brand damage, and legal exposure from uncontrolled AI deployment. Anderson emphasizes the need for paid AI platforms and strategic security frameworks.
The message to contractors is stark: adapt now or face obsolescence. As Anderson put it, "Start somewhere, because somewhere is further along than nowhere." The construction industry's AI revolution isn't coming—it's already here.
