Win The Storm: Where Roofers Go to Level Up
Josey Parks previews Win the Storm 2026 and the actionable strategies roofing contractors can expect.
Win the Storm is returning to Dallas this fall, and founder Josey Parks says roofing contractors should expect an event built around more than motivation. The focus this year is on helping contractors understand a changing industry and leave with ideas they can immediately put into practice.
Parks joined Roofing Contractor Executive Director Jill Bloom for a recent Best of Success podcast to preview Win the Storm 2026, scheduled for Oct. 28-30 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas.
Win the Storm 2026
Win the Storm 2026 returns to Dallas Oct. 28-30 with a program designed to help roofing contractors navigate industry changes and strengthen their businesses. Founder Josey Parks says sessions will focus on leadership, retail roofing, technology, marketing, insurance and strategies contractors can immediately put into practice.
This year’s theme, “Into the Storm,” reflects what Parks sees as a challenging period for contractors navigating changes in the roofing industry and the broader business environment.
“There’s so many storms happening right now in our industry, and let alone the world,” Parks said. “For you to get through a storm, you have to believe you can get through that storm.”
Building the Right Mindset
Headlining the event will be entrepreneur, author and podcaster Ed Mylett, whom Parks said he selected in part because of Mylett’s ability to motivate business owners and leaders to believe in their own capabilities.
“He’s motivated me, inspired me for so many years,” Parks said, pointing to Mylett’s ability to influence people “to believe in yourself, in your abilities, what God’s gifted you with.”
Beyond the keynote, Parks said Win the Storm will bring together business leaders from some of the country’s largest companies to discuss leadership, company culture, sales and other practices that can help contractors strengthen their organizations.
The educational program will include stages devoted to sales leadership, general leadership, technology, marketing and the changing insurance landscape. Insurance companies will also participate in this year’s event.
Parks said the goal is to provide useful education regardless of where an attendee is in the development of his or her roofing business.
“It really starts with questions, asking yourself the right questions to help you see the problem so you know what to solve,” Parks said. “Because it doesn’t matter how fast you run if you’re running in the wrong direction.”
Retail Roofing Takes the Stage
One area receiving particular attention this year is retail roofing.
Parks said Win the Storm will feature an entire retail breakout stage designed for contractors looking to diversify beyond insurance restoration work. The conversations will go beyond simply entering retail and focus on building a sustainable operation capable of generating more predictable revenue.
“A lot of these contractors are trying to figure out how to add retail to their business,” Parks said. “And not just adding retail. How do you grow your retail business? How do you get predictable revenue in your business?”
To address those questions, Parks said leaders from some of the largest retail roofing companies will share what has worked inside their own organizations.
The broader objective is to help contractors better understand the business environment they are operating in and identify what they may need to change.
“What does the landscape look like? What is the game we’re actually playing?” Parks said. “And what changes do I need to make in my business today to be better tomorrow and in the future?”

Turning Education Into Action
That emphasis on implementation may be the clearest theme running through Parks’ plans for the 2026 event.
Roofing contractors routinely attend conferences and educational sessions and return home with notebooks full of ideas. Parks wants Win the Storm speakers to go another step by giving attendees specific steps they can use when they return to their companies.
“One thing that I always challenge all the speakers with is, I want actionable steps people can take,” he said. “When they leave that stage, what are the actions that they can take to immediately implement these changes in their business?”
For Bloom, the conversation also offered an opportunity to reflect on Parks’ history with Roofing Contractor. Parks was recognized by RC as one of the industry’s “Young Guns” more than a decade ago, and Bloom noted that many of the business ideas he discussed then continue to resonate with contractors today.
Parks said the event ultimately comes back to something that has remained important throughout his career: bringing ambitious contractors together.
“Like-minded individuals that are looking to grow, for sure,” he said. “Community is everything to me, and that’s what I’m focused on.”
Win the Storm 2026 takes place Oct. 28-30 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas.
