Crisis Preparation
How to Create a Crisis Management Plan
Learn how to prepare for the next disaster, before the opportunities wash away.
Severe weather has already taken a heavy toll on communities and construction workers from coast to coast this year. With hurricane season upon us, RC checked in with disaster response expert Steve Slepcevic, CEO of Strategic Response Partners, to discuss what contractors can do now to be ready for the next crisis.
How to Create a Crisis Management Plan
With severe storms already generating a lot of roofing work across the country, pre-planning has turned out to be a key difference for contractors that can maximize the opportunity, says Steve Slepcevic, CEO of Strategic Response Partners.
He said it starts with pre-planning, which most roofing contractors don’t do, and don’t realize the gravity of the mistake until it’s too late.
“Most contractors have a huge, huge problem and they don’t pay attention to this (in severe weather response),” he said. “They burn their guys out.”
“Retooling,” as he called it, is necessary within at least two weeks of a disaster-recovery scenario, Slepcevic explained. Watch the full conversation here.
