I had an interesting chat recently with Brad Beldon of Beldon Roofing Company in San Antonio, Texas. 

 There’s a famous statistic that shows fewer than 3 percent of private businesses will make it to the third generation.  

In 1982, Ken and Diane Hendricks purchased three branches and founded ABC Supply Co. Inc. 

 When I was the last of the three brothers to enter the family business my dad told me, “I owe you an opportunity, not a guarantee.” 

 What a pleasure it is not having to rush to the gate to catch a flight.
