Young Guns Build Connections for Success
October 1, 2026Roofing industry leaders under age 40 will again have an exclusive opportunity to learn, network and share experiences together with other peers at Roofing Contractor’s Young Guns Roundtable experience at Best of Success 2026, Dec. 7-9 in Bonita Springs, Fla.
They’re called our Young Guns, and for the third straight year, a handful will be invited to participate a day early on Dec. 6 for an interactive workshop with roofing industry veterans that act as facilitators.
About a dozen roofers from companies across the country joined RC’s Young Guns Roundtable experience at Live! by Loews in Arlington, Texas, last December. Facilitated by A-Squared Marketing CEO Anna Anderson, Sales Transformation Group’s Ryan Groth, and Contractor Dynamics CEO Joe Hughes, the session let attendees share their visions for their companies, reveal key issues, and workshop potential solutions in a peer-to-peer, non-competitive environment.

“Being around other young leaders in the roofing industry reminds you that although our companies may be different, we’re dealing with many of the same challenges: growth, leadership, profitability, recruiting, culture, systems, and figuring out what comes next,” said Erick Hernandez, owner of E&D Premier Roofing in Dallas.
Being together in a room with other ambitious entrepreneurs willing to openly discuss what is and isn’t working in their roofing business drew passion and insight from multiple conversations.
“I’m not naturally a big networker, but I really appreciated the opportunity to hear others’ challenges and share insight from my own experiences,” said Katie Rice, director of administration at Pelican Roofing in Lafayette, La. “It reinforced how much you can learn by being in the right room with the right people.”
Anderson and Groth will be back as facilitators, joining former RC Young Guns Josey Parks (2014), Ryan Westfall (2015), of Westfall Roofing in Tampa, Fla., and Michele Boykin (2019), branch manager at Weather Shield Roofing Systems in Pensacola, Fla.
In recent years, we've featured larger classes of Young Guns, but for 2027, we'll keep it to a dozen spots. We’re looking for industry leaders under 40 who run, or are key to operating, a commercial or residential roofing company that generates roughly $3 million in annual revenue and has been in business for at least three full years.

Applications are now open for the 2027 Young Guns program, and each year we handpick a group of leaders to be featured in the magazine, recognizing the vision, drive, and passion that will separate their companies for years to come.
The recognition is only part of it. Being named a Young Gun means joining the rest of the class at the Best of Success Conference, where honorees will have the chance to build relationships with other leaders. Past Young Guns will tell you those connections don't stop when the conference ends, and that a big part of why so many past honorees continue to achieve success is the network they build in that room.
“Sometimes one relationship or one conversation can completely change the direction of your business,” Hernandez said.
