The Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) announced it has moved its 2021 Western Roofing Expo (WRE) to the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.

The WRE is now set to take place Sept. 21-23 at the Mirage-Las Vegas. When the WSRCA found out the World Series of Poker would be taking over the RIO All-Suites Hotel & Casino in the fall — interfering with the WRE scheduled for Oct. 3-5 in the same venue — WSRCA board members took advantage of the opportunity.

“WSRCA leadership has been nimble throughout the ups and downs that the pandemic has provided, and the association has come out on top of this situation. We are thrilled to have a new and exciting venue for 2021," said WSRCA Executive Director Joel Viera. "The Mirage has a larger convention center, which allows us to hold larger crowds in a safer manner. We are really excited to reconnect the roofing community with each other in September at a really beautiful venue."

The Mirage has an 89,000 square foot trade show floor, making it the largest WRE trade show space to date. In addition, the WRE will feature 24 educational seminars, two keynote luncheons, and the Davis Memorial Foundation's Welcome Event and Live Auction.

“I am very excited that we have the opportunity to have an expo this year," said WSRCA President Leo Ibarra. "Joel and the staff have done an amazing job battling adversity over the last year to bring you the best Western Roofing Expo possible. I understand that over the past year, we did not get the same networking experiences that we are typically lucky enough to enjoy. With that said, I genuinely cannot wait to see you all in person at the Mirage, as well as at some of the great educational seminars that WSRCA will be providing.”

In addition to the new WRE venue, the Davis Memorial Foundation announced that Bear’s Best Las Vegas, a golf experience that brings together 18 of Jack Nicklaus’ favorite holes into one Las Vegas golf course, will be the host of the foundation’s Bob Porter Golf Tournament. The Sporting Clays tournament will return to the Pro Gun Club. Both events, as well as the Welcome Event & Live Auction, will be held Sept. 21, with proceeds going to the Davis Memorial Foundation’s Scholarship Fund.

The new date and venue brings the 2021 event into alignment with the WSRCA's future WRE events, which are currently scheduled for the following dates and locations:

  • 2022: Sept. 24-26 at the Paris-Las Vegas
  • 2023: Sept. 23-25 at the Paris-Las Vegas
