IRE Adds Workforce Development Hub for 2027
The new IRE show-floor destination will focus on recruiting, training, career pathways and retaining roofing workers

Roofing contractors looking for ways to recruit, train and develop their next generation of workers will have a new destination at the 2027 International Roofing Expo.
IRE is adding a Workforce Development Hub to its show-floor education lineup when the industry gathers Feb. 16-18 in Las Vegas. Three sessions currently scheduled for the Hub tackle different pieces of the industry's workforce pipeline, from attracting new workers to preparing emerging roofing professionals for leadership roles.
“Attracting and Training the Next Generation” will feature Tim Kelly, president of the Slate Tile Metal Guild of America, discussing one of the industry's most persistent challenges: bringing younger workers into the trades and preparing them for roofing careers.
The National Roofing Contractors Association will tackle another part of the equation with “Expanding the Employee Pipeline.” Rebecca Eller-Molitas, NRCA's director of CTE engagement, and Amy Staska, vice president of workforce development, will lead the session.
Roofing Contractor will also participate in the Hub. RC Editor-in-Chief Art Aisner and Anna Anderson, CEO of A-Squared Marketing, will present “Young Guns: The Next Generation of Roofing Leadership.” The session turns the focus from getting workers into roofing to the emerging professionals helping lead the industry forward.
All three programs are designated as show-floor education, giving contractors an additional workforce-focused option outside IRE's traditional conference sessions.
IRE 2027 takes place Feb. 16-18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
