Cornerstone Building Brands announced that its Metal Solutions business now operates as Fortify Building Solutions as the company reorganizes into two focused businesses.
Led by CEO Matt Ackley, Fortify focuses exclusively on the metal building industry. Its operations span metal building systems, metal roof and wall systems, and metal components.
The company said the structure will allow Fortify to concentrate its resources, expertise and investments on the North American metal construction market.
“Everything about this evolution is centered on bringing us closer to our customers and the markets we serve,” Ackley said. “Operating as Fortify gives us a clear identity and renews our commitment to building on the trusted brands, strong customer relationships and operational capabilities that distinguish our business today.”
Fortify will remain part of Cornerstone Building Brands. Its strategic priorities and planned investments remain unchanged, including continued work involving manufacturing, commercial operations, customer experience, digital tools and customer service.
The business includes approximately 5,000 employees across more than 100 manufacturing, distribution and retail sites, according to the company.
Fortify’s portfolio includes Ceco Building Systems, Star Building Systems, Metallic Building Systems, Robertson Building Systems, Metal Sales, MBCI, Union Corrugating, American Building Components and Mueller. The brands serve commercial, industrial, agricultural, architectural and residential markets.
"Our brands will continue operating under their current names and customers will not see changes to branding, products or contracts", said Fortify's Sr. External Communications Manager Jessica M. Taylor.
The reorganization follows Cornerstone’s acquisition of Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation in 2025. Roofing Contractor previously reported that the acquisition added approximately 900 employees and expanded the company’s metal operations to more than 100 plant and distribution locations.
Roofing Contractor also reported in June of 2026 that MBCI was integrating Metal Sales commercial and industrial segment, expanding its manufacturing, distribution and project-support capabilities. MBCI is among the brands that will now operate within Fortify.
“We are focused on making metal construction projects easier to specify, source, build and support,” Ackley said. He added that the company plans to use its manufacturing network and continue improving its processes, technologies and industry expertise.
