Innovation across the roofing and exteriors industry is moving faster than ever. In 2026, manufacturers responded with a new generation of products designed to raise the bar on performance, jobsite safety, and long-term durability, reflecting an industry that's evolving well beyond its traditional boundaries.

As in years past, RC editors evaluated a range of recently introduced products to identify those with the greatest potential impact for contractors industry-wide. The result is our annual Editor's Choice: a curated selection of solutions that tackle real challenges across residential and commercial roofing applications.

Each product on this list earned its place by delivering measurable value, whether by reducing labor time, strengthening system performance, improving safety on the job, or meeting increasingly stringent building requirements for energy efficiency and resilience. Many also reflect the defining trends of this moment: roofing's deeper integration with other building systems, the rise of recycled and advanced materials, and a renewed focus on serviceability over the full life of a roof.

Taken together, these products represent some of the most significant advancements available to roofing professionals right now. We offer them not as an exhaustive review, but as a starting point — a trusted resource as you evaluate new technologies and consider what belongs in your business's future.

Here are RC's Editor's Choice selections for 2026.

New Innovations

CERANOVUS A Series Polymer Additive

GreenMantra Technologies

GreenMantra Technologies introduced the CERANOVUS A Series, a polymer additive designed to partially replace styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) in asphalt roofing formulations.

Made from recycled ground tire rubber and waste plastics, the additive is intended to improve performance while supporting sustainability goals. It increases softening point for better high-temperature stability, reduces penetration to enhance stiffness, and maintains flexibility in cold conditions.

CERANOVUS A also improves manufacturing efficiency by lowering viscosity by up to 65%—which can enable faster production speeds and reduced energy use. Mixing times may be reduced, and adhesion to substrates such as plywood decking is improved compared to standard formulations. The additive is made from 100% recycled content and may contribute to LEED certification credits. It is suitable for use in modified bitumen membranes, roofing shingles, and peel-and-stick underlayments, where it can enhance durability, thermal stability, and handling performance.

FiberSeal Base

Fluid Applied Roofing

FiberSeal Base by Fluid Applied Roofing is a proprietary, fiber-reinforced, sprayable material designed to replace traditional seam tape and polyester fabric in commercial roof restoration. The system creates a monolithic, fluid-applied membrane intended to simplify waterproofing and reduce installation time.

By eliminating multiple application steps, the product reduces the risk of installation errors associated with fabric-based methods and increases application speed. The material is designed to improve durability and leak resistance in roof preservation projects.

FAR also introduced expanded use for FiberSeal Base as a wall coating, broadening its application beyond roofing systems. The product is positioned to support contractor efficiency through lower labor requirements and improved project margins, while offering building owners a longer-lasting, waterproof solution. The company is increasing manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand for fluid-applied roofing systems. Fluid Applied Roofing (FAR) reported that its FiberSeal Base product received a second consecutive industry “People’s Choice Award” in the coatings, caulks, and sealants category.

Old Problems, New Solutions

AeroNet

Benjamin Obdyke

Benjamin Obdyke introduced AeroNet, a ventilation mat designed to improve drainage and airflow behind roofing and siding assemblies to help protect against moisture intrusion.

The lightweight, flexible product combines the ease of installation associated with rolled rainscreen systems with the compression resistance of grid-style products. AeroNet creates a consistent air gap behind cladding materials, supporting drying and reducing the risk of trapped moisture within the building envelope.

The system installs on both walls and roofs, eliminating the need for separate products and reducing material and labor requirements. It also removes the need for furring strips, streamlining installation and lowering project time.

AeroNet is compatible with a range of cladding materials and is designed for use with metal, composite, and cedar roofing systems. Its compression resistance helps maintain airflow space under load, supporting long-term performance in various applications.

TurboShear Rotary Panel Cutter

Malco

Malco introduced the TurboShear Rotary Panel Cutter, a power tool designed for cutting ribbed roofing and wall panels with precision and efficiency.

The cutter features dual opposing cutting wheels that allow the tool to self-advance through metal and vinyl materials, producing clean and consistent cuts. It has a cutting capacity of up to 22-gauge material, supporting use in a range of roofing and siding applications.

Designed for professional use, the tool is intended to improve accuracy and reduce effort when working with ribbed panels, including detailed or repetitive cuts on job sites.

The TurboShear Rotary Panel Cutter received a “Top Product Award” at METALCON 2025, recognizing its performance and functionality within the metal construction industry.

VADA Vented Roof Systems and SWIF Rack Commercial Solar Racking

Duro-Last

Duro-Last introduced two new systems—VADA Vented Roof Systems and SWIF Rack Commercial Solar Racking—through its national contractor network, expanding its offerings for wind resilience and rooftop solar integration.

The VADA Vented Roof System is designed to improve wind uplift resistance by addressing pressure differentials at the roof perimeter rather than increasing field attachment. The system is compatible with Duro-Last PVC and Duro-Tech TPO membranes and is intended to enhance performance in high-wind conditions.

The SWIF Rack system is engineered to support rooftop solar installations while preserving roof performance and accessibility. Using a stanchion-based attachment that connects through the roof assembly into the building structure, the system elevates solar arrays above the membrane. This design helps reduce membrane wear, prevent compression damage, and maintain access for maintenance and repairs.

The system also supports serviceability by allowing roof work, including replacement, without removing solar panels. Together, the two systems reflect a focus on integrated roof design, durability, and long-term performance in commercial applications.

Technology

TRUCE Software

TRUCE Software

TRUCE is built on a straightforward premise: mobile technology should enhance worker safety, not create distractions. The platform transforms everyday smartphones into AI-powered tools that improve safety and performance in real time, according to Brian Gallagher, director of commercial solutions.

Unlike traditional telematics systems that focus only on vehicles, TRUCE integrates mobile devices, vehicle data, and AI-enabled dashcams into a single, mobile-first platform. This approach supports crews both inside and outside the vehicle, providing a more comprehensive view of driver behavior and jobsite activity.

A key advantage is simplicity. TRUCE leverages devices workers already carry, eliminating the need for costly, complex in-vehicle hardware. Contractors responding to the platform have highlighted the immediate value of reducing installation costs while still gaining actionable safety insights.

Distracted driving costs employers roughly $19 billion annually in the U.S. The heart of the platform is ENFORCE, TRUCE's patented engineering control that automatically eliminates device distraction behind the wheel on every trip. The solution addresses persistent challenges facing roofing crews, including distracted driving, communication gaps, and inconsistent safety practices that can lead to injuries, claims, and lost productivity. TRUCE also reflects a broader industry shift: companies increasingly recognize that driving to and from jobsites is a major risk exposure. By incorporating driving behavior into overall safety programs, TRUCE helps contractors strengthen safety culture, reduce liability, and improve operational performance across the entire workday.

Safety

The Talon

The Talon

The Talon is a patent-pending roof edge adapter designed to improve safety and simplify guardrail installation on low-slope roofing projects.

The system clamps to the outer edge of the roof structure, allowing guardrails to be installed without interfering with roofing work. It is designed for new construction where roof systems are installed before walls, a scenario that can complicate edge protection. Talon is compatible with multiple guardrail configurations, including scaffold standards and pipe-style systems. It is engineered to provide strong attachment, achieving more than 700 pounds of resistance when installed on structural steel angles.

The system also includes adjustable threaded posts that allow guardrails to be raised up to 12 inches to accommodate changes in roof thickness during installation. For wood blocking applications, the Talon Nest variant attaches to the face of the blocking, enabling additional roofing layers to be installed without removing and reinstalling guardrail components. The product is intended to improve jobsite safety, maintain compliance, and reduce disruptions during roof installation.

Life Grab Ladder Stabilizer

On Top Safety

On Top Safety earned top honors with attendees at the 2026 International Roofing Expo for its Life Grab Ladder Stabilizer as the latest attempt to curtail accidental falls.

Designed by roofers and meant to keep ladders secure at any height, it allows roofers to secure their ladders to any structure without the risk of unreliable bungee cords, ropes or clamps. It’s compatible with all ladders, durable and has a patent-pending securement system that exceeds OSHA standards.

Keeping It Cool

MAX PVC

Elevate

Elevate introduced its MAX PVC roofing membranes as a solution for data centers and other mission-critical facilities requiring high-performance roofing systems.

The membrane is engineered to provide durability under demanding conditions, including resistance to punctures, tearing, and mechanical stress through a reinforced knitted scrim. It also offers inherent fire resistance and strong protection against chemicals and grease, making it suitable for environments such as data centers, airports, and manufacturing facilities.

MAX PVC and its fleece-backed MAX PVC XR variant are designed to support heat management in cooling-intensive buildings. The membrane is highly reflective, meets Cool Roof Rating Council standards, and may contribute to green building certification credits.

The system is positioned to address the growing demand for single-ply roofing driven by data center expansion, where reliability and long-term performance are critical to maintaining continuous operations.

OPTIM-R

Kingspan

OPTIM-R vacuum insulation panels by Kingspan are designed to deliver high thermal performance in applications where space is limited. The system consists of a rigid panel with a microporous core that is evacuated and sealed within a gas-tight envelope. This construction enables significantly higher thermal resistance compared to traditional insulation materials at reduced thickness.

OPTIM-R is intended for use in areas where conventional insulation cannot be installed due to space constraints, helping improve energy performance without increasing assembly depth.

The panels are available in thicknesses ranging from 20 mm to 50 mm, providing flexibility for different project requirements. The product is suited for roofing and building applications that require high insulation performance within tight design tolerances.

ZIP System Roof Assembly

Huber Engineered Woods

The ZIP System Roof Assembly by Huber Engineered Woods is designed to provide moisture protection for roof decks during construction and in severe weather conditions.

The system combines integrated roof sheathing with flashing tape or liquid-applied flashing to create a continuous air- and water-resistant barrier. This approach helps protect the roof structure when exposed to the elements, including during construction phases or if roofing materials are damaged or removed by high winds.

By sealing joints and penetrations, the system is intended to reduce the risk of water intrusion and improve overall building envelope performance. It can serve as a secondary layer of protection beneath the primary roof covering.

The ZIP System Roof Assembly is designed for residential construction and supports faster installation by integrating multiple components into a single system.

Adding On

KAST

KAST

KAST introduced a rooftop mounting system designed to simplify attachment of equipment to roof assemblies while improving durability and reducing maintenance. The product is positioned as an alternative to traditional mounting systems that require more labor-intensive installation and are more susceptible to weather-related wear. The system is engineered to streamline installation by reducing the number of components and simplifying assembly. Features such as load-distributing fins and a dual spring nut are designed to speed installation while providing a secure connection.

KAST creates a mounting point for applications including solar panels, guardrails, fall protection systems, and other rooftop equipment. The design aims to reduce labor time and minimize ongoing maintenance compared to conventional attachment methods.

Constructed from cast aluminum or zinc alloy, the system resists rust and corrosion commonly associated with steel or mixed-metal mounts. This material choice is intended to improve long-term performance in exposed rooftop environments and reduce the likelihood of structural degradation over time.

Sasquatch Gutter Protection System

E-Z Gutter Guard and Midwest Enterprises

E-Z Gutter Guard and Midwest Enterprises introduced the Sasquatch gutter protection system, designed to install simultaneously with gutters and eliminate the need for traditional hangers.

Sasquatch attaches to the front hem of the gutter and uses a rear screw ledge that allows fasteners to be pre-started before installation. The assembled system is then secured directly to the fascia, creating a continuous, reinforced structure intended to withstand heavy snow and ice loads without buckling or rusting. The product is made from perforated, painted aluminum in .019-inch thickness, with a .022-inch option for extreme weather conditions. An optional fine debris filter is available for environments with smaller particulate matter such as pine needles and pollen.

Sasquatch meets ASTM 2768 fire-resistance standards, and with the debris filter, meets ASTM 2886 for ember intrusion. The system includes a lifetime limited transferable warranty and is distributed through building material wholesalers nationwide.
