Young Guns 2025: Ready to Grow
March 3, 2025While workforce issues continue to be a leading cause of concern for roofing contractors in most markets, there’s a spot in the industry where the next generation of roofers is shining bright — excelling at business while still learning the ins and outs of the trade.
RC is fortunate every year to meet and feature a few roofing professionals under age 40 who are making a difference in their companies, communities and, in some cases, across the industry. Whether in managing operations, excelling at lead generation and sales, or better connecting with customers, this year’s crop of young roofers bring enthusiasm, ideas and a vision for the industry’s future to the mix and are eager to grow and improve.
We call them our Young Guns and celebrate their nominations annually at RC’s Best of Success conference.
This year, roughly a dozen roofing contractors representing companies that are at least five years old and generate at least $5 million in annual revenue were invited to meet with a group of handpicked ‘facilitators’ to share information, perspectives and solutions. Contractors broke into smaller groups around the room to focus on questions for facilitators in their particular areas of expertise. the conversations delved into dozens of topics, including family dynamics, specific operations strategies, team-building exercises, technology integration, leadership, culture, recruiting, sales processes and more.
The Young Guns: Pathway to Success in Construction workshop was an opportunity to get in front of roofing professionals with varied experiences working in the residential and commercial sides of the business. It was designed for this year’s group of Young Guns to gain practical advice from people who were in their shoes not all that long ago, in some respects. Check out what they said about the experience in these profiles.
