Westlake Royal Building Products, a Westlake company, announced on Tuesday an expanded partnership with Specialty Building Products’ U.S. LUMBER and Amerhart, which will encompass multiple products and locations. U.S. LUMBER and Amerhart are distributors of building materials.

In a Nov. 28 news release, Westlake Royal said the expanded partnership with U.S. LUMBER and Amerhart would add distribution for more of Westlake Royal’s leading brands, including Versetta Stone, SkyTrim, Royal Trim & Mouldings and Cedar Renditions, across multiple locations in the Midwest and Northeast.

“We look forward to providing our customers with even more customized solutions that fit their needs throughout the country through this expanded partnership with U.S. LUMBER,” said Bill Conlon, vice president of U.S. sales, siding and trim, Westlake Royal. “We are thrilled to continue to strengthen our relationships and increase the geographic reach of our family of brands.”

U.S. LUMBER, founded in 1988 by Lawrence Newton, is a privately held distributor of specialty building materials serving much of North America. In more than 30 years since Newton opened his first location in Birmingham, Ala., U.S. LUMBER has grown its geographic footprint by opening stores in new markets.

In recent years, growth has also happened through acquisitions, including the purchase of Boston Cedar, NILCO, Midwest Lumber and Alexandria Moulding.

Amerhart started as an insulation and Masonite distributor called Hartman Wholesale. After steady growth throughout the 1950s, Hartman acquired American Millwork and Supply in 1963, and the combined company, renamed Amerhart, moved into a single facility in 1966 and began to focus on distributing wholesale lumber and building materials in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

In 1977, Amerhart moved to a parcel of land and built a 200,000 square foot warehouse in Green Bay, Wisc.
