IRVINE, Calif. — Boral Roofing LLC has introduced an innovative new design of its popular Boral® Saxony® 900 concrete tile in Florida. The new tile design addresses climate conditions in the region with improved installation techniques for enhanced durability and resiliency.

Boral Saxony 900 tiles may be fastened with less of ICP Group’s Polyset® AH-160 Foam Adhesive than similar competing flat tile options, reducing installation costs and offering better protection from the elements.

The advanced design of the concrete tile features a lower profile and thicker mid body. With the design enhancements, the tile may now be installed utilizing up to 25% less Polyset® AH-160 Adhesive than competing tile options, resulting in a more efficient installation process to save in both labor and material costs. Uplift resistance values were determined by an independent testing from a qualified Florida and Miami-Dade approved laboratory.

“This new Florida tile roofing solution is a direct result of Boral Roofing’s unyielding drive to envision and produce the highest performing roofing systems for customers,” said Rick Hackett, product marketing manager for Boral Roofing. “The enhanced Boral Saxony 900 tile offers improvements for installation and weather resiliency in a region that is notorious for severe rain, sun and wind.”

During professional installation, contractors use Polyset AH-160 Adhesive paddies to fasten Boral Saxony 900 concrete tiles to an approved roofing underlayment, such as Boral TileSeal®.  For medium sized paddies, ICP Group recommends 10 to 12 square inches of adhesive contact to the underside of the tile. Boral Saxony 900 tile’s unique design allows for the adhesive to disperse more evenly across the tile.

“Boral Roofing has been serving Florida with quality manufacturing and the latest in roofing product innovation for more than 60 years,” said Hackett. “Boral Saxony 900 continues that tradition.”

Boral offers Saxony 900 concrete tile in numerous color options, many of which are readily available and some made-to-order to complement any Floridian architectural theme and home color palette. Like all Boral Roofing concrete tile systems, Boral Saxony 900 is Class A Fire Rated. The concrete tile features a non-prorated and fully transferable limited lifetime warranty.
