August 8, 2019

These roofing companies were on the cusp of making the Top 100 in 2019 and expect to be back and part of the list next year — putting them at the top of our roofing contractors watch list for 2020.

Los Gatos Roofing

Los Gatos Roofing

Location: Los Gatos, Calif.

Founded: 2001

Scope of Work: 100 percent residential

Company Specialty: All things residential, including concrete and clay tile, wood shakes and cedar shingles.

Number of Employees: 50

Website: losgatosroofing.com

2018 Annual Revenue: $14.6 million

Last year was: “Very good,” said President Gary Radonich.

This year will be: Tough, according to Radonich. “Weather has already cut into the work schedule and taken too many work days,” he said, noting also that the company is trying to add staff to meet demand in the market.

ARC Contracting LLC

ARC Contracting LLC

Location: Neenah, Wis.

Founded: 2006

Scope of Work: 78 percent residential, 22 percent commercial

Company Specialty: Residential and commercial roof replacements, as well as replacement windows, siding, installation, and replacement gutters.

Number of Employees: 50

Website: arccontracting.com

2018 Annual Revenue: $12.5 million

Last year was: “Company high for revenue after 30 percent growth,” said COO Philip Golding.

This year will be: “We will be more profitable. We may see a slight decrease in revenue due to some restructuring.”

On trying to reach Top 100: “It would be a true honor to be part of the Top 100, with many of competitors of smaller teams and new start-ups having less than ideal business methods,” Golding said. “This drives down credibility in the industry and is harder for legitimate companies like us to build trust with home owners and businesses.”

Greenawalt Roofing Co.

Greenawalt Roofing Co.

Location: Lancaster, Pa.

Founded: 2004

Scope of Work: 97 percent residential; 3 percent commercial

Company Specialty: Residential and commercial roof replacements, as well as gutters, siding, windows and doors.

Number of Employees: 20

Website: greenawaltroofing.com

2018 Annual Revenue: $10.5 million

Last year was: “2018 blew it out of the park,” said Marketing Director Brittany Loeffler “We exceeded our goals by far and looking to keep growing each and every year.”

This year will be: “We hope more of the same. Last year had a lot of hail storms which helped boost our revenue,” she said. In addition to enhanced marketing efforts, the company hired a certified Haag inspector to help with insurance claims and storm work. “2019 will be a challenge, but we’re up to reaching those goals and working toward growing our team,” Loeffler added.

On trying to reach Top 100: “This would be an amazing opportunity. We started out as a one-man team and have continually grown throughout the years. Our brand is growing and reaching the counties around us. We continue to grow and keep our customers satisfaction at the top. To be included on this list would be such an honor and show how dedicated our team is and how we strive to be the best every single day.”
