Editor's note: Multiple members of the Roofing Contractor team participated in the judging process.

IKO, a global leader in roof shingle manufacturing, recently named the winners of the ‘Picture Your Perfect Dynasty Roof’ photo contest that coincided with the introduction of its most advanced architectural laminated asphalt shingles to date.

“(We) invited roofing professionals throughout the United States and Canada to submit photographs of any residential roofing projects they completed using IKO’s new Dynasty asphalt shingles,” said Carol Perkins, Director of Marketing. “We were very pleased to receive so many entries, although this made our judges’ jobs harder in determining the winners.”

One Grand Prize winner and four runners-up from both Canada and the United States received cash prizes.

  • The two $5000 Grand Prize winners:
    • Ace Home Improvement of Conway, Ark.
    • Kirby’s Roofing of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.
  • Second Place Prizes of $2500 each were awarded to:
    • Midtown Home Improvement of O’Fallon, Missouri
    • Integrity Roofing of Salmon Arm, British Columbia.
  • Prizes of $500 each were awarded to two Third Place winners:
    • Midwest Construction Group, LLC of St. Charles, Missouri
    • PRH Roofing of Bradford, Ontario.
  • Fourth Place winners:
    • Ace Home Improvement of Conway, Ark.
    • Forest City Roofing of London, Ontario
  • Fifth Place winners:
    • Midwest Construction Group, LLC of St. Charles, Mo.
    • Forest City Roofing of London, Ontario.

“Both of my customers had very upscale homes. They were really impressed with the designer look created by the Glacier color blend and IKO Dynasty’s dimensional profile,” said Greg Bramlett, owner of Ace Home Improvement in Conway, Ark., in a news release. Bramlett captured both the grand and fourth place prizes.

“The IKO brand is really starting to become known in our market, because the finished roofscape is such a standout people are asking what kind of shingles those are!”

Perkins says that the winning photographs will be showcased on IKO’s company website and social channels and may also be included in other publicity pieces, such as trade magazine ads.
