MALVERN, Pa. – CertainTeed, North America’s leading building materials manufacturer, has announced the availability of its new Roofing Ventilation Calculator mobile application. This free digital tool gives building professionals a fast and accurate way to determine the amount of ventilation products needed to outfit an attic space with balanced ventilation.

 

“Simplicity was the key in designing this tool,” said Dale Walton, manager of residential product marketing with CertainTeed Roofing. “We understand contractors’ needs, and they want something that is fast, reliable and easy to use, and that is exactly what they get with our Ventilation Calculator.”

 

Available for both IOS and Android devices, the app includes the complete line of CertainTeed Roofing ventilation products – ridge vents, rolled ridge vents, intake vents and static exhaust vents.

 

Users simply enter the length and width of the attic space, or select the overall square footage of the space, and the Ventilation Calculator outputs a list of the amount of products needed to ventilate the space based upon the NFA 1/300 rule.  Users can also highlight their products of choice on the list, and share the results by email or text message to communicate the amount of ventilation inventory they will need.

 

In addition to providing information on each product in the CertainTeed ventilation line, the app provides links to the CertainTeed website ventilation product page, where users can access additional product info (including technical information and installation instructions), and also includes a digital version of CertainTeed Roofing’s Accessories brochure that provides information on ventilation and other components of the Integrity Roof System.
