INDIANAPOLIS – Ken Weaver, Chairman, CEO and President of Firestone Diversified Products, LLC (FSDP), and concurrently President of FSDP’s subsidiary Firestone Building Products, LLC (FSBP), has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer for Bridgestone Americas, Inc., the Nashville-based parent company of FSDP, effective May 15, 2011.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this organization and the community here in Indianapolis,” Weaver said. “We’ve lived in Nashville before and call it ‘home’ as our children grew up there, but Indianapolis will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”
Weaver has served as a member of several Indianapolis area community boards including the Indianapolis Zoo, the 500 Festival Committee, Crossroads of America Council/Boy Scouts of America, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership and the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce.
Tim Dunn has been named the new President of FSBP and will succeed Weaver as leader of that $1 billion business. Dunn will assume his new position effective May 15, and his family will be moving to the Indianapolis area in the coming months.
“This business is in excellent hands under Tim’s leadership,” Weaver said. “He’s a strong leader who brings sales, marketing and operations experience, along with an international background, to the Building Products team.”
During his 28 year career with the Bridgestone Americas organization, Weaver has held a wide variety of positions, including Manager of Financial Systems for the Firestone Credit Card group, Information Systems Director and Assistant National Manager for the GCR Group (at the time an independent tire dealer but now a part of Bridgestone Americas), Director of Sales & Marketing for Firestone Agricultural Tire, and served concurrently as Bridgestone Americas Corporate Controller and Vice President, Finance for the North American tire operations before joining FSDP in Indianapolis.
Dunn joined Bridgestone Americas in 1986. His first assignment was Territory Manager for the Consumer Replacement Tire group, and he continued to hold positions of increasing responsibility for that organization including Regional General Manager, Director of National Marketing & Supply Chain Management and Executive Director of Consumer Tire Marketing. In addition, through his assignment as Project Manager for New Business Development – Retail with Bridgestone Australia, Dunn has gained significant international experience. He returned to the United States last year when he was named President of Firestone Fibers & Textiles Company, headquartered in Kings Mountain, N.C.
