The Roofing & Exteriors Business Workshop is part of IRE's show-floor education and will be led by Scott Siegal, president of Certified Contractors Network and owner of Maggio Roofing Company.
Siegal will lead four sessions addressing practical issues contractors encounter while running and growing their businesses. Topics include developing a one-page business plan and understanding the difference between markup and margin — and how confusing the two can affect profitability.
He will also address common sales objections and explore how contractors can put artificial intelligence to work in sales and marketing, estimating, scheduling and production.
Siegal entered the roofing industry in 1989 and has owned or acquired multiple roofing companies in the Washington, D.C., area. A former NRCA director and president of the Washington Area Roofing Contractors Association, he has spent the past 13 years training contractors on sales, production and business management.
The workshop is included with an IRE Expo Hall pass and adds a business-focused component to the education available on the show floor.
