DeWalt launches expanded jobsite tool tracking network
Partners extend tracking across fleets, jobsites.

DeWalt has launched a partner network that connects its Tool Connect asset-tracking platform with systems from Geotab, Trackunit and BoxLock, extending detection of compatible tools and tagged equipment across vehicle fleets, heavy machinery and secured storage.
The integrations turn participating companies’ existing hardware into detection points.
- Geotab-connected fleet vehicles can report to nearby Tool Connect devices
- Trackunit-connected equipment can detect devices around machinery and job sites
- BoxLock storage units can log nearby tools when the units are opened or the tools come within range.
DeWalt said existing Tool Connect customers can activate the integrations without adding hardware.
"Our customers have told us that the network is the largest challenge in deploying tool tracking at scale," said Eric Loeliger, Director of Product Management, DEWALT. "The Tool Connect Partner Network solves this by turning the infrastructure customers already have — their fleet vehicles, their heavy equipment, their smart locks — into a tracking network for their DEWALT tools. They get a single view of where their tools are, with significantly less effort. This is the broadest network of its kind in the industry."
The network builds on DeWalt’s mobile app and Construction Asset Gateway, a Bluetooth and cellular device used to locate nearby connected tools and tagged equipment.
DeWalt said more partners, including business software and telematics providers, are expected to join over the next year.
