METALCON apuesta por el español y expande su programa educativo para 2026

METALCON ampliará su programa educativo y de capacitación para su edición número 35, que se llevará a cabo del 7 al 9 de octubre en Orlando, Florida.

El evento anual de construcción metálica incluirá capacitación práctica, presentaciones sobre las perspectivas económicas del mercado, oportunidades de educación continua y un nuevo programa en español, denominado Latino Track, dirigido a contratistas, instaladores y otros profesionales de la industria.

“METALCON es más que una feria comercial; es la reunión anual de negocios y educación de la industria de la construcción metálica”, dijo Judy Geller, vicepresidenta de ferias comerciales de METALCON.

Geller señaló que el programa educativo de este año aborda los temas que los profesionales enfrentan todos los días, incluyendo el desarrollo de la fuerza laboral, los desafíos de instalación en campo, los códigos de construcción, el desempeño de los edificios, la tecnología, la incertidumbre económica y el crecimiento de los negocios.

Entre los oradores principales se encuentran el ex lanzador de Grandes Ligas Jim Abbott, quien hablará sobre liderazgo y resiliencia, y el economista Kermit Baker, que presentará un panorama del mercado para los sectores de construcción y diseño.

METALCON también ofrecerá sesiones sobre el futuro de la construcción metálica, los costos de los materiales, las condiciones de la cadena de suministro y los cambios en los códigos que afectan el diseño, la fabricación y la instalación.

Capacitación práctica para contratistas

Las METAL Mastery Clinics, presentadas por la Metal Construction Association y la Metal Roofing Alliance, se llevarán a cabo en el piso de exhibición y estarán enfocadas en las mejores prácticas para la instalación de paneles metálicos de junta alzada, tejas metálicas y sistemas de retrofit para techos metálicos.

Las clínicas están diseñadas para ayudar a los contratistas a comprender mejor la selección de materiales, el conformado de paneles y las técnicas de instalación que pueden mejorar la eficiencia, la calidad y la satisfacción de los propietarios de los edificios.

Por su parte, la METALCON Training Zone, patrocinada por Sherwin-Williams | MetalVue, contará con demostraciones prácticas utilizando estructuras de prueba y materiales como acero pintado, aluminio, zinc, cobre y otros materiales especializados.

Las demostraciones estarán dirigidas por John Sheridan, de Sheridan Metal Resources, y su equipo de expertos. Las sesiones se ofrecerán en inglés y español, y los asistentes podrán probar y adquirir herramientas durante el evento.

Un nuevo espacio para los profesionales que hablan español

Una de las novedades para 2026 será el lanzamiento del Latino Track, que ofrecerá sesiones educativas y demostraciones de capacitación en español.

El nuevo programa busca ampliar el acceso a contenidos técnicos y de negocios para los profesionales hispanohablantes que forman parte de la industria.

METALCON se llevará a cabo en el Orange County Convention Center. Los talleres previos al evento comenzarán el 6 de octubre y el registro ya está abierto.
