Solar Holler Expands School Rooftop Portfolio
REC-backed power purchase agreement supports 15 W.Va. schools

Ever.green, a renewable energy certificate marketplace, and Solar Holler, a West Virginia-based solar installer and developer, have completed the first six of 15 planned rooftop solar installations for Wayne County Schools in West Virginia.
The projects are structured through a power purchase agreement between the district and Solar Holler, allowing the schools to avoid upfront installation costs and lock in a fixed electricity rate. Ever.green aggregated demand from corporate energy buyers purchasing long-term, high-impact renewable energy certificates, providing additional contracted revenue to help finance the systems.
With six systems operational and 11 under development, the district estimates annual energy savings of $150,000 to $200,000. The installations are expected to avoid about 2,400 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, roughly equivalent to removing 560 cars from the road each year. Specific system sizes and total project costs were not disclosed.
Superintendent Todd Alexander said projected savings over the life of the PPA could effectively fund two teaching positions.
