Encuesta: 23% Planea Cambiar el Techo en 2026

Las mejoras del hogar impulsan la demanda de techado

Una nueva encuesta nacional revela que muchos propietarios de viviendas en EE.UU. están priorizando proyectos de mejoras del hogar en 2026, y uno de cada cinco afirma que hizo propósitos de Año Nuevo enfocados en renovar su casa en lugar de hábitos personales.

La encuesta, realizada a 2,000 propietarios en nombre del fabricante de productos para la construcción TAMKO, encontró que el 43% completó renovaciones en el último año y el 32% planea renovar en 2026. Entre quienes planean proyectos, el 65% espera que este sea su año más importante en cuanto a mejoras del hogar.

Las renovaciones interiores encabezan la lista, con casi el 60% planeando actualizaciones dentro de la vivienda. Los proyectos de jardinería fueron mencionados por el 43% de los encuestados, seguidos por pintura exterior (33%), construcción de una terraza o patio (28%) y cambio de techo (23%).

La apariencia exterior de la vivienda sigue siendo un motivador clave. El 30% de los encuestados dijo que está renovando para mejorar la apariencia de su hogar, mientras que otro 30% señaló que su casa se siente anticuada. En general, el 77% indicó que la apariencia exterior es importante para ellos.

Casi un tercio de los propietarios informó que ya ha contactado a contratistas, comprado materiales o finalizado planes de renovación. Otros permanecen en la etapa de planificación, con un 23% evaluando opciones y un 12% manteniendo una lista de mejoras deseadas.

“Estos hallazgos reflejan qué tan fuertemente los propietarios conectan la satisfacción personal con sus espacios de vivienda”, dijo Chris Freeborg, vicepresidente y director de marketing, comunicaciones y desarrollo de productos de TAMKO.

La encuesta también encontró que la actividad en el vecindario influye en las decisiones de renovación. Más de una cuarta parte de los encuestados dijo que se inspiró en viviendas cercanas, y una proporción similar señaló que sus vecinos se vieron influenciados por sus propias mejoras.

A pesar de los proyectos en curso, el 68% de los propietarios afirmó que sus hogares aún no se sienten completamente terminados, lo que sugiere que la renovación sigue siendo un proceso continuo para muchos.
