A&S Construction Marks Five Years in Frederick County
Woman- and minority-owned roofing contractor marks milestone

A&S Construction celebrated five years in business on Jan. 22, with a gathering of local government officials, business leaders, and community members at the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce in Maryland. The milestone reflects the steady growth of a company built on integrity, skilled craftsmanship, and strong ties to the Frederick County community.
Founded and led by Sandra Hofmeister, A&S Construction stands out as a certified woman- and minority-owned business. Hofmeister is the only bilingual, female-licensed general contractor in Frederick County with her professional background, a distinction that informs her leadership style and commitment to clear communication, high standards, and respectful service for homeowners.
Over the past five years, A&S Construction has earned multiple industry and community honors, including awards from Sass Magazine and finalist and winner recognition from the Frederick News-Post. These accolades underscore the company’s dedication to quality work, customer satisfaction, and a trusted local reputation.
“Reaching five years in business is about more than longevity,” Hofmeister said. “It’s about showing up consistently for our clients, doing the work the right way, and staying rooted in the community that supports us. I’m incredibly grateful for the clients, team members, and partners who have been part of this journey.”
In addition to providing construction services, A&S Construction remains deeply involved in the local community, supporting initiatives, collaborating with fellow small businesses, and contributing to the economic vitality of Frederick County as it continues to grow and serve the region.
