The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) and Beacon Exit Planning are teaming up to educate roofing contractors about the business-succession process Dec. 12-13 in Phoenix.
The two-day "Understanding Your Exit Options" seminar, offers an in-depth look into how roofing contractors should approach the exit planning and succession process. Former roofing contractor and Beacon Exit Planning Founder Kevin Kennedy, and business partner Joe Bazzano will break down the risks, challenges and results of a well-planned business exit.
Spurred by continued consolidation among contractors in both residential and commercial roofing markets, the NRCA and Beacon wanted to bring issue to the forefront, Kennedy said.
The event is open to all roofing contractors and early-bird pricing expires Nov. 1.
"This educational workshop will give owners and CFOs clarity regarding internal and external exit options, valuations, buy-sell agreements, succession, contingency planning, asset protection, risks and tax mitigation strategies," Kennedy said. "Understanding these factors is essential."
He also said roofing entrepreneurs will leave the workshop with new skills, including:
- How to navigate critical landmines that can destroy an exit plan
- Owner exit options, valuation, tax mitigation and compromises
- How to prepare an owner and a company for the sale/transfer
- Company and personal asset protection and tax mitigation strategies
- Ways to reduce and eliminate taxes with internal and external sales.
Attendees are invited to a cocktail reception Wednesday, Dec. 11. Optional 30-minute coaching sessions are available Dec. 14.
