West Jordan, Utah-based LKL Associates, a family-owned and operated independent distributor of roofing, drywall, siding, and other exterior building products, announced it had joined the Independent Distributor Alliance Corp., or IDAC, a trade association.

With eight locations in Utah and Idaho, LKL was founded in 1978. In a news release, the company’s membership in IDAC brings the number of member concerns to 31. LKL said its inclusion foreshadows further expansion. 

"We are very excited to join IDAC, and we value the supplier relationships that they bring to us as well as the opportunity to participate and learn best practices from the most respected group of independent professionals in the industry,” LKL President Colten Christianson said on joining IDAC. 

“We feel, as an independent, it's never been more important to support our co-op and its vendor partners,” Christianson added.

Curt Gomes, executive director of IDAC, added, "We are very excited to continue to expand the IDAC membership with quality companies like LKL. They have the business model, long-term vision, and culture that fits very well with our group."

IDAC is a trade group of independent building material distribution companies across North America with more than 1,100 affiliate branch locations.
