ICP Adds New Tampa Facility to MasterWorks Contractor Training Program
To better support a growing need for product education in the construction and maintenance industry, ICP Group recently opened its third facility dedicated to training for its APOC® brand of commercial and residential building products. The Tampa, Fla., location complements contractor and installer training facilities in Andover, Mass., and Phoenix, and expands the reach of ICP’s APOC MasterWorks® Training and Education Program into the heart of tropical storm territory.
In a statement the company said APOC MasterWorks training courses are designed to educate installers on the proper application of APOC products and systems, as well as to increase awareness of new technologies, application techniques, codes and regulations, and industry updates. Courses offered include the one- to two-hour introduction to roof restoration and the more in-depth, two-day certified applicator training, which is required for any contractor installing an APOC system.
“Building and restoration activity continues to gain momentum throughout the Southeast,” said John Walker, ICP’s national technical manager, Roofing and Waterproofing, in a statement. “Keeping up with that demand requires having top-tier knowledge of the very technical products being used for those projects. ICP’s training teams create tests and conduct live demonstrations so contractors can experience the products firsthand, which helps to educate and ensure competency, accuracy, safety and, ultimately, a quality result.”
The Tampa Training Center is reported as being ICP's largest facility yet, capable of hosting up to 80 people for classroom-style training sessions and as many as 40 for classroom and demo or hands-on lessons. Contractors interested in participating in training should visit apoc.com/pages/education to see upcoming training dates by location, as well as to complete a form for registration. Sessions are led by some of ICP’s most experienced professionals and tailored to crews of all skill levels with meticulous focus on the specific work to be performed.
