MOORESVILLE, N.C. — On June 6, President Joe Biden announced he would authorize the Defense Production Act (DPA) to help accelerate the manufacturing of clean energy products, like solar panels, in the United States.

As a longtime provider of American-made residential solar panels, Pink Energy is thanking the president for taking action to boost the solar industry and keep jobs crucial to the future of the world's energy economy in the U.S.

Biden's plan aims to rapidly expand the domestic production of five critical areas:

• Solar panel parts like photovoltaic modules and module components
• Building insulation
• Heat pumps, which heat and cool buildings super efficiently
• Equipment for making and using clean electricity-generated fuels, including electrolyzers, fuel cells, and related platinum group metals
• Critical power grid infrastructure like transformers

These actions taken by the government will help ensure that the industry has room to grow domestically and will strengthen the strained and outdated electric grid, all while lessening the strain on the industry's supply of critical energy efficiency components.
