SPECIALTY: Roof replacements, repairs, and maintenance services for occupied buildings in Florida and the Caribbean.

2020 REVENUE: $112.1 million

2020 Was?: “Our company performance in 2020 was reasonable considering the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Bill Arseneau, marketing director. “We had an overall growth rate of 8% and saw a minor slow down at the pandemic's start and picked up with the rain season and re-opening of businesses in Florida.”

2021 Will Be?: “We currently have a solid backlog of roofing projects in the state of Florida for 2021,” Arseneau said. “However, with the current raw materials shortages and price increases, our financial success will strongly depend on how material deliveries play out in the second half of the year.”

2020 Was?: “Total revenue was slightly lower than the expected level in 2020,” said Traci Matthew, director of operations. “Operating expenses in 2020 were greater than 2019 due to COVID related items as well as one-time technical support increases.”

2021 Will Be?: “Each year, McKinnis strives to introduce new technology within our sales teams to produce more productivity through CRM updates, Zoom Sales Calls, and paperless signature options for faster quotes and approvals,” Matthew said. “In addition, our marketing department is now utilizing drone video footage for additional content and customer before-and after-videos. This is also something that we are utilizing to get photos for estimates and inspection notes for our customers. From a safety perspective, we are utilizing tablets for documenting safety on our jobsites and reporting this information back to our production departments. We’re increasing productivity across all departments at McKinnis Inc.”
