TORONTO, Ont. — Garland/DBS Canada Inc. was recently awarded a contract to provide roofing and waterproofing materials and related turnkey services to member entities of Kinetic GPO, a cooperative purchasing organization for broader public sector and MASH (Municipalities, Academics, School Boards, and Health and Social Services) entities across Canada.
The three-year contract, with an option to extend the term for an additional period of up to two years, officially took effect April 1, 2020. Through contract 19-03, Garland/DBS Canada will provide totally integrated project delivery with complete accountability under a long-term warranty. Products included in the portfolio support the roofing and waterproofing needs of the exterior building envelope.
“Kinetic GPO is proud to partner with Garland/DBS Canada on this contract to offer roofing and waterproofing services and materials to our members,” said Chris Penny, CEO of Kinetic GPO. “Our evaluation team, which consists of several former broader public sector officials, stated that Garland’s overall value and offering is going to be well received across the country.”
The contract provides competitive pricing to broader public sector entities and leverages group purchasing power to help organizations reduce procurement costs. It was put into place through a fair, open and transparent public tender process that ensures compliance with the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and other trade agreements.
“We’re excited that Kinetic GPO has chosen Garland/DBS Canada to provide its members with our high-performance roofing and waterproofing products and second to none installation services,” said Charbel Boulos, president of Garland Canada Inc. “We’re confident procurement officials will find this to be a cost-effective and efficient method of completing projects.”
Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) are widely used especially in the medical and education sectors. Kinetic is advancing the purchasing power of entities by leveraging combined purchasing volumes and offering its portfolio to a full range of Canadian broader public sector and MASH entities.
