Founded in 2008 and headquartered in McKinney, Texas, SRS has grown to become the third largest and one of the fastest growing roofing distributors in the United States.

Originally founded in 1938, Interstate currently operates both a wholesale distribution operation and a vinyl and composite window and door manufacturing operation in Pittston, Pa.   

As part of the transaction, SRS has acquired Interstate’s wholesale distribution operation, which carries a full line of exterior building products including residential roofing, vinyl siding, windows and doors, kitchen cabinets, and other complementary products.  

Going forward, Interstate will operate as Interstate Window & Door Co. and plans to expand its manufacturing operation under current ownership.  

The entire sales and operations team of Interstate’s wholesale distribution operation will stay with SRS. SRS will also transition Interstate’s operating name to Kohl Building Products, which already operates nearby locations in Stroudsburg and Bloomsburg.

“We have been exploring opportunities in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton market to extend the reach of the Kohl Building Products platform we acquired last year,” Tinker said. “Partnering with the Interstate team will best position our sales and delivery capabilities in the region to provide the highest level of customer service.”
