WAUKESHA, Wis. — Metal-Era, Inc. has been awarded the 2013 Award of Excellence by the Wisconsin Iowa Central Illinois Minority Supplier Development Council (WICIMSDC).

WICIMSDC recognizes companies that continuously increase MBE-to-MBE purchases, contribute to the growth of society, consistently provide high-quality products at competitive prices, and successfully demonstrate growth in sales and employment.

“We are honored to have been nominated as a leading local minority business,” Metal-Era President Tony Mallinger said. “We will continually strive to provide the best products and services for our customers, and hope to expand our efforts as a minority business in the upcoming years.”

WICIMSDC’s role is to support and develop minority-owned businesses by facilitating important connections between corporations and minority suppliers. The WICIMSDC operates under the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), which advances business opportunities for certified Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American business enterprises and connects them to corporate members. NMSDC was chartered in 1972 to provide increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes.

Recipients of the 2013 Award of Excellence were recognized for their achievements at the Partners for Profit Business to Business Symposium on Tuesday, March 26 at the Country Springs Conference Center in Pewaukee, Wis.
