ROSEMONT, Ill. — Tecta America Corporation has hired industry veteran Kerry Degener as its senior federal account sales manager and senior federal estimator. Degener’s focus will be to facilitate the growth of federal contracts for the Tecta America operating units in the central United States.

Degener joins Tecta America from Carlisle Construction Materials in Carlisle, Pa., where he was the Mid-Atlantic regional sales manager. In this role, he was directly responsible for profit and loss for six states comprising 12 sales territories. In addition, Degener was responsible for Carlisle’s sales channel development and distribution channel development for the Mid-Atlantic territories. In 2011, Degener’s territory set a Carlisle regional sales record.

Prior to joining Carlisle, Degener was the director of sales and marketing and senior project manager at JL Robbins Roofing Company in Solon, Ohio, where he secured union roofing contract work. His responsibilities included roofing sales, roof construction estimation and project management. Under Degener’s guidance, JL Robbins grew from a manufacturing facility centric roofing company to a successful industrial roofing business committed to long-term relationships with area hospitals, colleges and universities, NASA, and other federal, state and local government agencies.

Degener is actively involved with RCI, Inc. and is a recognized expert trainer in the Action Sales methodology. He is an officer of the U.S. Marine Corps and completed his active service. Degener also coaches high school football in northeast Ohio, where he lives with his wife and three children. Degener will be relocating to the greater Cincinnati area.
