ST. PAUL, Minn. — 3M Industrial Mineral Products Division demonstrates its continuing commitment to environmental health and safety (EHS) in its roofing granule production operations by announcing all four IMPD plant sites have had their Environmental Management Systems certified to the ISO 14001: 2004 standard. This includes the plants at Corona, Calif.; Little Rock, Ark.; Wausau, Wis. and Pittsboro, N.C.

Tim Worms, national accounts and marketing manager, said, “This certification confirms the sustainability of our operations and represents a significant competitive advantage in our industry.”

Key benefits include established, on-going standard operating procedures and work instructions for certain activities having potential adverse environmental impacts. Also, the ISO 14001: 2004 certification tells our communities and our customers that these plants are responsible stewards of the environment.

“ISO certification is a milestone that represents our commitment to continually improving our environmental performance,” said John Lowrey, manufacturing technology manager.
