Allied Acquires Spartan Supply
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Allied Building Products Corp.
announced it has expanded its presence in the California market through the
acquisition of Culver City-based Spartan Supply Co.
As part of the acquisition, Spartan Supply Co. will keep its well-known name, but relocate in November 2007 from 8700 Washington Blvd. in Culver City to a new facility at 4801 Jefferson in nearby West Los Angeles.
“The acquisition of Spartan will allow Allied Building Products to enter a high-end, niche market and fill in logistical distribution gaps,” said Greg Bloom, vice president of Allied Building Products Corp’s Western Regions. “Spartan’s products, service and people are stellar - which has helped them earn an excellent reputation throughout the building products industry.”
Founded in 1978, Spartan Supply Co. is a leading supplier of high-end roofing materials specializing in imported and domestic slates, specialty clay tiles and copper products as well as built-up, single-ply, wood shake and composite shingles, skylights, metals and fasteners.
“The acquisition of Spartan Supply is a win for our customers geographically as they will greatly benefit from Allied’s extended delivery channels,” said Rick Betts, executive consultant of Spartan Supply Co.
