MetalForming Strengthens RollForming Product Line

June 1, 2004
MetalForming Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., announced that it has finalized an agreement to become the exclusive North American distributor of VIPRO Systems.

MetalForming Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., announced that it has finalized an agreement to become the exclusive North American distributor of VIPRO (Variable Profile Rollformer) Systems, manufactured by Sen Fung, Taipei, Taiwan.

"These systems are already top sellers in Europe and throughout Asia because Sen Fung absolutely delivers on quality, reliability and customer service. We are delighted to add the VIPRO systems to our product line and to our North American customers," says Geoff Stone, MetalForming president and chief executive officer.

MetalForming is now selling three levels of VIPRO machinery: fixed base for single profiles; rafted system that allows for multiple profiles; and double high that enables operators to make two profiles with minimal changeover. Instead of a chain-driven power transmission system, each VIPRO rollforming machine is equipped with a worm gear system to minimize vibration, ensure an accurate roll speed and deliver a quality product for the operator without scratching and scuffing. In addition, the worm gear system requires little maintenance.

The VIPRO also features a Mitsubishi touch-screen control system that allows the operator to program multiple batches and run the machine in fully automatic or manual mode. In addition, having the option of a front cut shear, exit shear or both, provides operators with the advantage of flexibility for high speed, short piece production and waste reduction. Other key design features include the use of .012-inch-thick hard chrome rolls designed with finite element analysis and COPRA software as well as vibration dampening devices on all machine stations.

To introduce the VIPRO systems to North American customers, MetalForming will be hosting an open house event this summer at its Peachtree City, Ga., headquarters to showcase and demonstrate the VIPRO rollforming line. The VIPRO product line is fully supported by MetalForming with a service team factory trained on the systems in Taiwan. As for service, Stone says MetalForming will provide spare parts with each machine at no additional charge. In addition, Sen Fung has an open source parts policy, which means the company provides all owners with the Internet addresses of VIPRO parts manufacturers to enable customers to purchase direct without markups.
