This year's Greening Rooftops for Sustainable Communities: The 2nd Annual International Green Roof Infrastructure Conference, Awards and Trade Show will be held in Portland, Ore., June 2-4, 2004. The event is being organized by Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, a network of public and private organizations working to develop the green roof industry for the past four years. The event will be co-hosted by the city of Portland. The three-day conference will consist of plenary and specialized sessions focused on three main topic areas: policies and programs to support green roofs; green roof design and implementation; and research and technical papers on green roof performance. Stephen Kellert, author of The Biophilia Hypothesis, will deliver the keynote address. Highlights include over 70 trade show exhibitors, an International Business Opportunities reception, green roof tours, the inaugural Green Roof Design 101, and the Green Roof Awards of Excellence.
