Guardian Roofing Wins 2026 BBB Torch Award for Ethics
Washington contractor recognized for customer accountability, employee training and community service

Guardian Roofing, Gutters & Insulation has been named a 2026 Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics winner in the Washington Large Business category.
The Auburn, Wash.-based roofing contractor received the award from BBB Great West + Pacific during an Oct. 29 ceremony. The Torch Awards evaluate companies on leadership character, workplace culture, customer relationships and community involvement.
“Growth is exciting, but growth built on trust is what truly matters,” said Mat Rzucidlo, president of Guardian Roofing. “Winning a BBB Torch Award for Ethics is incredibly meaningful because it recognizes how we do business, not just how much business we do.”
Guardian pointed to its inspection and customer-service practices as examples of that approach. In 2025, company inspectors identified approximately 70 homeowners whose roofing problems potentially qualified for workmanship warranties from their original contractors. Rather than selling those homeowners repairs or replacements, Guardian said it directed them back to the original installers and explained their warranty options.
The contractor also highlighted cases in which it reimbursed a homeowner after incorrectly stating a Guardian warranty had expired, repaired wind-damaged metal roofing outside the warranty at no charge and made more than 20 visits over six months to help diagnose a persistent leak ultimately traced to a skylight rather than Guardian's roofing work.
Guardian completed 865 roof replacements in 2025 and has grown from approximately 110 employees to more than 145 during the past two years. Sales consultants receive more than four hours of structured coaching each week covering technical diagnostics, estimating, customer communication and ethical selling.
The company's community efforts include the Guardian HALO Project, which provides free roof replacements to homeowners facing significant hardships. Since launching in 2018, the program has donated nine complete roofs with more than 120 employee volunteer hours. Guardian expanded the program into Oregon in 2026.
Guardian ranked No. 56 on Roofing Contractor's 2026 Top 100 Roofing Contractors list, rising from No. 74 in 2025 and No. 98 in 2024.
