Capital City Roofing is running roughly 80 in-house AI agents across lead intake, scheduling, customer communication and back-office operations, part of a broader effort to compress quoting and response times in a trade still dominated by manual workflows.

The GAF Master Elite contractor, serving Alpharetta, Ga.; Nashville, Tenn.; Charleston and Greenville, S.C.; targets a 30-second response window on missed calls and routes leads automatically by division and zip code. Proposals that previously took days are now turned around the same day. Intake, scheduling and communication run through BuilderLync, a CRM the company built internally before opening it to other contractors.

Every job begins with a standardized 27-point inspection feeding the CCR Condition Index, a 100-point weighted rubric that assigns roofs an A-to-F grade. That data underpins Capital Shield, an asset-management program that tracks roof condition over time for residential, multifamily and commercial owners.

Founder and CEO Brad Strawbridge, who spent more than a decade at Lowe's before entering commercial roofing and launching CCR in 2024, argues most AI investments in service businesses fail because the underlying operations were never standardized first. He also positions the company against venture-backed platforms attacking the same problem: CCR, he notes, holds the license and puts its own crews on the roof.

The company operates three divisions and is adding markets through the Capital City Licensing Platform, which licenses its operating system, brand and technology stack to independent contractors rather than franchising the name alone.
