AccuWeather Launches Weather App Integration in ChatGPT
Forecast tools now available in-chat

AccuWeather announced March 24 that its weather data is now available through an app integrated into ChatGPT, a move that could affect how roofing contractors access forecasts on the jobsite.
The integration provides current conditions, radar, government advisories and short- and long-term forecasts, including hourly and 10-day outlooks. Users can also ask location-specific questions and receive real-time responses within ChatGPT.
Steven R. Smith, AccuWeather’s CEO, said the move reflects how people increasingly rely on artificial intelligence for information. “As AI becomes a central way people gather information and make decisions, this fully integrated experience represents a preferred way to access weather insights,” he said.
The app also includes proprietary forecast metrics and historical data. AccuWeather said the launch expands its reach by making forecasts available within widely used AI tools.
The company conducts ongoing studies asserting the accuracy of its forecasts, though such claims were not independently verified in the announcement.
