The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas will distribute millions of dollars in 2026 through its Community Investment programs, including significant funding for storm-resistant roofing and homebuyer assistance across its five-state district.
The bank allocated $10 million for its FORTIFIED Fund to help eligible homeowners install storm-resistant roofs and another $10 million for a FORTIFIED Rental Program supporting similar upgrades on affordable multifamily properties owned by nonprofits and public housing authorities.
In addition, $17 million will be available through the Homebuyer Equity Leverage Partnership program to assist first-time homebuyers with down payment and closing costs.
Other 2026 allocations include $3.5 million for disaster rebuilding assistance, $1.75 million per project through the Affordable Housing Program General Fund for construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing, and $1.8 million for home repairs and modifications for elderly or disabled residents.
Greg Hettrick, senior vice president and director of Community Investment at FHLB Dallas, said the programs are designed to support member institutions and the communities they serve.
“Everything we do is about equipping our members with flexible funding and grants that strengthen housing and spur economic opportunity in the communities they serve,” Hettrick said.
All grants and funding are distributed through FHLB Dallas member financial institutions. The bank does not provide grants or loans directly to consumers.
FHLB Dallas serves approximately 800 member institutions in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas.
