FiberSeal Base Earns Consecutive Innovative Products Award at IRE
Fluid Applied Roofing's signature product wins "People's Choice" for second straight year.

Fluid Applied Roofing (FAR) has announced its second consecutive win of the "People's Choice Award" at the International Roofing Expo (IRE) Innovative Product Showcase and Awards. This back-to-back victory in the Coatings, Caulks, and Sealants category underscores the roofing industry's continued endorsement of FAR’s flagship innovation, FiberSeal Base, and its impact on commercial roof preservation.
The "People's Choice Award" is determined by votes from industry professionals and peers, making it a significant indicator of market trends and contractor preference. The recognition highlights the success of FiberSeal Base, a proprietary fiber-reinforced, sprayable product designed to replace labor-intensive methods such as seam tape and polyester fabric. By simplifying the waterproofing process, the product allows contractors to achieve superior results in a fraction of the time.
Sonny Arwood, CEO of Fluid Applied Roofing, said he views this sustained recognition as validation that the company is successfully shifting industry perceptions.
"We intentionally set out to create a new category in this sector," Arwood said. "For years, the term 'roof coating' carried a stigma of being a temporary fix or a 'miracle in a bucket.' We are changing that narrative. We aren't just coating a roof; we are installing a monolithic fluid-applied roofing system. This award confirms that contractors understand the difference our fiber-infused technology makes in preserving the life of a building."
The consecutive win reflects a broader industry movement toward efficiency and reliability. FiberSeal Base reduces the risk of installation errors inherent in traditional fabric applications while significantly increasing application speed. And new this year, it can also be used as a wall coating, further expanding its versatility. For building owners, this translates to a more durable, leak-proof asset, while contractors benefit from reduced labor costs and improved project margins. FAR continues to expand its manufacturing capabilities to meet the growing demand driven by these innovations.
