Giving Back
Roofing Good Deeds: Uplifting Stories from Across the Industry (Nov. 24, 2025)

As the year winds down, it’s time to reflect. While economic uncertainty has plagued both consumers and businesses, it hasn’t stopped roofing contractors from brightening people’s days in the final months of 2025.
Though Veterans’ Day has already passed, roofing contractors didn’t let that stop them from showing their gratitude for members of the military. Outside of this, roofing companies continued to give back to their communities in meaningful ways.
Below are recent stories to help remind us of all the good still happening in the industry.
Veteran Receives New Roof from Texas Roofing
Ronald Baker, a resident of Floresville, Texas and a U.S. Army veteran, called it a “godsend” that Texas Roofing Home Improvements provided a complete roof replacement at no cost.
The Wilson County News reported the roofing company teamed up with the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project and Purple Heart Homes to gift Baker the roof. He served more than 11 years in the Army and another 16 years in civil service before being “medically boarded” due to a broken back.
After a contractor abandoned replacing his roof, Baker planned on fixing it himself until community members pointed him to Levi Serna of Texas Roofing. Serna told Baker about the Roof Deployment Project, and about four months later, received a new roof. Owens Corning donated supplies, and Texas Roofing provided the labor.
Angelo’s Roofing Continues ‘Roof a Vet’ Tradition
Angelo’s Roofing & Construction, a contractor in Erie, Pa., once again held its “Roof a Vet” giveaway, donating a roof to a local U.S. Army veteran as a way of thanking them for their service.
ABC-affiliated WJET was on the scene to capture the roof installation. This was the fifth annual Roof a Vet for Angelo’s Roofing. The company’s owner, Andy Vicna, said the company works with Veterans Affairs to help decide who is chosen for the free roof repair and construction.
“It’s important for me, I myself was not in the military, but a lot of my family and close friends have been in the military, and I feel like it’s an important recognition for everyone to realize, ‘Hey, we all need to give back to our veterans.’ And what better way to give them a free roof?” Vinca told WJET.
Adam Quenneville Roofing & Siding Donates Roof to Navy Veteran
Adam Quenneville Roofing & Siding in Massachusetts partnered with GAF to hold its AQ Cares Veteran Roof Giveaway, designed to thank local veterans for their service.
NBC-affiliated WWLP shares that this year’s finalists for the free roof contest were Lep Pilares, a U.S. Navy veteran; Scott Palmer, a U.S. Army veteran; and Timothy Bielecki, a U.S. Air Force veteran. Their stories were shared online, and Pilares was selected as the winner via public voting. He received a new GAF roofing system with a Golden Pledge Warranty.
“Leo’s story really struck a chord with all of us,” Morgan Bennett, marketing & development director at Adam Quenneville Roofing & Siding, told WWLP. “He represents the quiet strength and selflessness that define so many of our veterans. Being able to provide him and his family with a safe, secure roof isn’t just about roofing. It’s about gratitude, stability, and giving back to someone who’s given so much.”
BluSky Restoration’s Clays for a Cause Raise $20,000 for At-Risk Youth
BluSky Restoration Contractors held a “Clays for A Cause” event that raised $20,000 for nonprofit organizations benefiting at-risk youth in Colorado.
The event, held at Great Guns Sporting in Nunn, Colo., brought together over 100 attendees and 15 BluSky staff members for a day of fun and support for the organization. Hosted by the Fort Collins BluSky office, the day featured a clay shooting competition, BBQ lunch, raffle prizes, awards and happy hour. This year’s event marked the 11th annual “Clays” event hosted by the office.
“With this being my first Clays for Cause event at BluSky, it was truly incredible to see the planning and collaboration that went into making this day happen not only from our team at BluSky, but from all the contractors and clients we work with daily,” said Matt Tuholski, reconstruction superintendent, BluSky.
Lamar Homes Roofing Keeps Families Warm and Fed
In Raleigh, N.C., Lamar Homes Roofing teamed up with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department to hand out warm coats and turkeys to residents.
The roofing company aimed to give out 5,000 coats and 1,000 turkeys on Nov. 15, with the contractor accepting donations for the cause, according to CBS-affiliated WNCN.
“I enjoy doing it, making sure that I can make a little difference in somebody else’s life, and I’m able to inspire other people to do the same,” Lamar Homes Roofing owner David Lamartiniere told WNCN.
This is the fifth year Lamar Homes Roofing has held the coat and turkey drive. The company is also supporting families in Charlotte and Greensboro during the holiday season.
