Every week I am bombarded with all sorts of information about roofs and roofing. 

I have noticed an increasing number of collaborations being announced recently. 

One of my duties as editorial director for Roofing Contractor is to serve on an advisory board for the International Roofing Expo (IRE).

OSHA has hit the news again recently as they once again have delayed enforcement of their new rule on fall protection with regard to roofing and specifically the elimination of the slide-guard rule.

Awesome is in the mind of the attender. For this attendee (for full disclosure, a stakeholder in the operation), it was the best trade-show and educational seminar experience in recent memory.

A recent survey of Roofing Contractor readers revealed page upon page of interesting stats about how our readers go about doing their business. 

We received a press release from Follansbee Steel last week that explained how they are in negotiations with one or more buyers who would potentially come in and keep the operation going.

It was appropriate that the passing of Steve Jobs would provoke such an enormous response by way of his biography by Walter Isaacson.

Probably the last bit of news I expected to hear last week was that Follansbee Steel was shutting down.
