This blog posting is being written on the somewhat infamous one-year anniversary of the theft of a copper roof in north Metro Atlanta. No, not just the gutters or downspouts, but the entire copper roof.
At trade shows, it seems everyone leads off with the same question: “What’s new?” New products are introduced to the world of roofing in a variety of ways, and new product announcements are often timed to coincide with the big trade shows, including METALCON, the International Builders Show (IBS) and the International Roofing Expo (IRE).
The International Roofing Expo (IRE) is held once a year in conjunction with the annual convention of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). NRCA sponsors the IRE and Roofing Contractor is the official publication of the event, the largest in the roofing industry. This year’s IRE was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in mid-February.
It is always an enjoyable challenge to put together our Editor’s Choice feature. Enjoyable because we get to learn about new and improved products, systems, and initiatives produced to make roofing products better or help your roofing business run more smoothly (or both).
