PABCO Roofing Products announced on Tuesday that it had begun shipping Shadow Cap Wide, a new, wider version of its ridge cap that is more than three inches wider than the company’s standard Shadow Cap product.

In a March 26 news release, PABCO described its new ridge cap as designed for optimal coverage, color matching, and vented ridge applications.

Shadow Cap Wide is available in eight colors and complements all PABCO shingle lines. The new product also includes Algae Defender, which uses copper granules to protect against black streaks caused by blue-green algae. Each Shadow Cap Wide color is engineered to meet the standards of all PABCO Roofing shingle lines.

PABCO describes the Shadow Cap Wide as offering enhanced flexibility for accommodating diverse roofline styles. It allows for a unified solution across different ridges, hips, gables, and vented ridge systems, showcasing a commitment to versatility and performance. Each bundle covers 31 linear feet of ridge cap and is designed for easy application.

The new Shadow Cap Wide meets key industry performance ratings and requirements:

• UL 790 Class A fire rating in the U.S.
• CAN/ULC-S107 fire rating in Canada
• ASTM D3161 Class A wind rating
