International Roofing Expo Names WeatherLok Metal Roofing a 2024 ‘Experts’ Choice’
Company wins innovative product award from IRE panel of experts
WeatherLok Metal Roofing, formerly Montana Steel, is a North American manufacturer of stone-coated steel roofing products for residential and commercial applications. The company produces a 26-gauge hidden fastener stone-coated metal roofing system in two colors, Weathered Wood and Charcoal, to resemble the look of shake roofing systems.
WeatherLok products are UL-certified for 790 Class A Fire Rating, 2218 Class 4 Impact of hail, and ASTM D3161 Class F Wind Test of 110 mph.

WeatherLok Metal Roofing was named a 2024 Experts’ Choice Innovative Product Awards winner at the 2024 International Roofing Expo in Las Vegas.
“This award proves what we’ve known all along,” Peter Northcott, president of WeatherLok, said in a March 12 news release. “We have an innovative metal roofing system that is easy to install and offers end-users a durable, long-lasting and attractive solution to their roofing needs.”
WeatherLok Metal Roofing won the Experts’ Choice Award for its stone-coated metal roofing shingle. The winners were selected by a panel of IRE360 editors and industry experts. WeatherLok said the winners stood out from the competition in their ability to “…boost performance or sales, increase customer salinification or worker safety, and/or set a new industry standard in the field.”
Referencing WeatherLok shingles, the judges said:
“This is going to be great for hail, wind, fire and ice. It has no exposed screws, which is a huge benefit. And it has an easy interlocking system, which will really help out the labor install. From a cost point and the lack of possible leaks from exposed fasteners, this one looks like a winner.”
The awards program is an industry recognition that celebrates cutting-edge solutions in roofing and exteriors.
