Ken Kelly, president of Kelly Roofing in Naples, Fla., is retiring.
The 2019 RC Residential Roofing Contractor of the Year officially called it a career after three decades in an exclusive videochat with RC Group Publisher Jill Bloom.
“I always wanted to go out on top and leave the company in a very good position,” Kelly explained. “We had our highest revenue grossing year, our most profit ever, we had our best quarter ever, -- there really hasn’t been an opportunity like right now.”
Though just 47, Kelly noted he had working in roofing for three decades, the majority as president of Kelly Roofing after taking over from his dad as a teenager.
His father, Joe Kelly, started Kelly Roofing in their hometown of Naples in 1972, and both Ken and brother, Joe Jr., were involved at a young age. The company reported nearly $58 million in revenue for last year, cracking the top 40 of RC's 2023 Top 100 List.
