IB Roof Systems welcomes Mollie Elkman, author of “The House that She Built,” to its booth at the 2022 International Roofing Expo (IRE), where she will meet, greet and sign copies of her book.

“We are excited to highlight women for their work and contribution in the construction and roofing industry,” said Jason Stanley, CEO of IB Roof Systems, on the company's website. “We hope this book will inspire and empower young women in the upcoming generation to explore the many wonderful careers available in this incredible industry.”

This will be Elkman’s first appearance at the IRE. Her book was inspired by a team of real women who came together from around the country to build a one-of-a-kind home. The book was written to help bridge the skilled labor shortage gap by educating and exposing women to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, mathematics) and construction careers.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 10.9% of employees in the construction industry were women in 2020. Ever since joining the industry and becoming president and owner of Group Two, she noticed this disparity, and was inspired to write the book after one of her friends completed the all-women home build in Utah. She hopes to help elevate careers in construction and promote diversity, equity and inclusion.

IB Roof Systems will be at booth 1325 during the 2022 IRE, which will be held Feb. 1-3 in New Orleans at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. For more information, visit ibroof.com and theroofingexpo.com.
