Castagra Roofing named the winner of its new Castagra Roofing Scholarship Program, designed to support individuals pursuing a career in roofing (or a similar field), who are passionate about innovation and/or sustainability.

The winner of the 2021 scholarship is Sarah Dalby, an architectural engineering student at the University of Texas. She is pursuing her degree to learn about structural methods and materials in order to design a sustainable solution to help the homeless. She has been researching 3D printing technology and how it can be expanded in order to 3D-print houses with organic materials.

"Our team was overwhelmed by the number of qualified applicants, and picking a winner was no easy task! Thank you to everyone who applied," Castarga Roofing wrote in an email.

Recipients of the scholarship receive a $1,000 award. Castarga understands that college is not for everyone, so the company does consider applicants that are not planning to attend school if they fit the other guidelines and can prove that they are dedicated and passionate about entering the industry.
