The final day of the International Roofing Expo (IRE) Virtual Edition is closing out with everything from COVID-19 legal updates to a heart-stopping show from Cirque du Soleil.

Roofing professionals can continue to take advantage of the flexible offerings presented by the IRE’s Virtual Edition, which offers both live presentations as well as on-demand sessions covering every aspect of the industry. On Day Three, learn about the legal issues related to COVID-19 in the roofing industry with a live presentation featuring both legal and roofing experts.

Roofers can then peruse other informative presentations from their peers, including pricing strategies, low-slope roofing techniques and unlocking the secrets to hiring a roofing rock star despite the workforce shortage.

In the midst of all this is a presentation that is sure to excite you for attending the IRE’s in-person event Aug. 10-12 in Las Vegas: two of Cirque du Soleil’s must-see Las Vegas shows, “Mystère” and “O”, presented by Visit Las Vegas.

As the Virtual Edition of IRE is proof of, the COVID-19 pandemic is still affecting the roofing industry. This seminar will be a panel discussion addressing current legal issues related to COVID-19 for roofing professionals. Join Trent Cotney of Cotney Attorneys & Consultants and a prestigious panel including John Kenney of Cotney Attorneys & Consultants, Ken Kelly of Kelly Roofing and Michelle Boykin of Rackley Roofing Co. Inc. as they discuss navigating these issues.

 

Advanced Pricing Strategies

John DeRosa of SRS Distribution knows that smart pricing strategies is a must to succeed in the roofing industry’s highly competitive market. In this presentation, he will share how pricing strategically for both services and products can give contractors the opportunity to protect profit margins and use higher prices to actually increase sales. 

 

The Wonders of Cirque du Soleil

12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Las Vegas, where the IRE’s in-person event will take place later this year, is known for show-stopping entertainment, events and fun. To whet everyone’s appetite for heading to Sin City, Visit Las Vegas is presenting Cirque du Soleil, one of the best circus traditions and acrobatic performances in the world. The presentation features of two of their must-see Las Vegas shows, “Mystère” and “O”. “Mystère” combines the powerful athleticism, high-energy acrobatics to explore the mystery that is life. “O” is inspired by the concept of infinity and the elegance of water, world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers and divers.

 

NRCA Technical Operations Committee: Low-Slope Roofing Development and Issues

1 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Speaker: Mark Graham

Having covered steep-slope technical issues and questions on Day One, Mark Graham, National Roofing Contractors Association Vice President of Technical Services, will switch gears to provide a look at low-slope roofing issues being discussed by NRCA’s Technical Operations Committee.

Ways to Maximize Communication & Collaboration Tools

Speaker: Christina Vlassis

Communication is critical to being successful in roofing, and the pandemic has shown that communicating in the field is more important than ever. Christina Vlassis of Beacon will explain how to improve communication while in the field using Microsoft Teams or Google Hangouts and increase efficiency at the same time by using Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive. She will also walk through the steps to create an auto sync with mobile devices to OneDrive or Google Photos to save job site photos.

 

Low Slope Roofing Wind Design

4 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Speaker: Darren Perry

SOPREMA’s Darren Perry will focus on wind design requirements for commercial low-slope roofing in this informative presentation. Participants will learn about ASCE 7, U.S. codes and standards related to low-slope roofing wind design as well as laboratory testing and agency approvals for wind uplift resistance for low-slope roofing.
