GLENDALE, Ariz. – Elite Roofing Supply is demonstrating its commitment to the roofing industry’s growth by becoming a platinum sponsor of National Women in Roofing (NWiR).

NWiR is a non-profit organization dedicated to recruiting, retaining, empowering and educating women in the roofing industry. Elite’s sponsorship will enable the organization to provide resources for women to enter, learn and grow within the industry.

“We are so thrilled that Elite roofing Supply has committed as a platinum sponsor,” said Ellen Thorp, executive director of NWiR. “Their investment will pay dividends to our members and prospective members as we continue to grow.”

Elite’s support of NWiR goes beyond its platinum sponsorship – the distributor pays the membership fees for its employees and encourages them to be involved in their local councils. Sarah Weiss, chief operating officer of Elite Roofing Supply, says as a member of NWiR since its inception, the organization is making a difference in the level of participation and engagement of women throughout the industry. 

“Elite believes strongly that NWiR provides a forum for women to find mentors, further their roofing education and network with others in the industry,” said Weiss.

NWiR recently announced the creation of its Woman of Outstanding Roofing Leadership Distinction (WORLD) award. The award recognizes “a woman who is a true champion for other women in the roofing industry, local community and family” and will be given annually on National Women in Roofing Day.

Elite’s commitment to giving back extends to the communities it serves. It donates materials and services to local women’s shelters and the Boy Scouts as well as creating an educational scholarship fund.
